/pratt history

Pratt arrived in the St. Vrain Valley in 1857.  The family has been an active member of the community from this time, and remains an active member until today.

For the beginning of the newly developed Longs Peak Industrial Park (LPIP)  

Ken and Susan Pratt - 1978 

Together they developed and built over two-million square feet of  space.  They believed they did not create  jobs but they built homes for those jobs

The Plaza Hotel - 1983 

Another amenity for Pratt customers; the Plaza convention center followed; the Executive Suite opened in 1995; followed by the Hawthorn Suite in 1996

Ken Pratt was one of the founders which began the Economic Development Association of Longmont, today LAEC, to bring companies to Longmont and jobs to it citizens

Governor's Mission to Japan -1986

Pratt was a member of this group whose focus was recruiting and bringing new Japanese businesses to develop new trade

Ken Pratt honored for his contributions to the community shortly after his death

Pratt Hosts Royal Couple - 1995 

Their Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Machiko were hosted by the Pratt family when they visited Longmont and the surrounding area

Pratt Sells the LPIP - April 22, 2005

At the time of the sale the Park was spread over 227 acres and the companies employed over 4,000 people
